A snippet from the introduction:
"There is
nothing like seeing Italian cooks in action. My grandfather, Pop, was
usually at the helm in the kitchen. Grandma always took care of the prep
work and clean up. Together they cooked as though they were feeding an
army. On Sundays we would be greeted at the door by the smell of garlic,
tomatoes, and basil intermingling in the most delicious sauce
imaginable. Thankfully, taking a “sample” was never an issue at their
house. We were actually encouraged to rip a piece off of the
ever-present loaf of Italian bread for dipping, right into the pot."

Chitter Chatter is a delightful rhyming story with adorable
illustrations, written to stretch children's imaginations and make them
smile. On each page the author poses a question about a specific animal.
On the corresponding page, the animal answers the question in its own
voice. The underlying question is, "If animals could talk, what would
they say?" The reader ends up realizing that animals in fact DO talk,
but we just don't understand their language.
Children are encouraged to
think about what they would ask animals, if they could speak to
them. This book is ideal for children who are on the verge of reading.
They will benefit from the easily identifiable pictures and the
corresponding rhyming lines of text. (Ideal for ages 0-6.)
Chitter Chatter Reviews:
by Judith Nasse (former
editor of And Baby magazine)
"It is easy to see why
Chitter Chatter won first place in the American Dream Group's children's
story writing contest. It is a charming picture book...The author,
ToniAnn Guadagnoli knows how to write children's literature. The simple
rhyming text carries the reader along, while the stratchboard style
illustrations exactly illuminate the text. The illustrations have a
lively sense of movement and humor...The book is a wonderful read-aloud
to toddlers and preschoolers. It will be a good addition to a home or
classroom library."
by Staff at Wee Ones
Magazine
"Have you ever
wondered what animals say? This is a fun look at what animals might
really be thinking. Written in rhyme,
Chitter Chatter will delight younger children, as the author takes a
peak into the minds of animals....The illustrations are funny too and
well done. This book is a delight to read."
